Buying property in Lanzarote

Where to buy property in Lanzarote?

Buying property in Lanzarote can be done in one of the most popular coastal villages: Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca.

Playa Blanca boasts beautiful beaches, overwhelming views of the island of Fuerteventura and fantastic weather. Although Playa Blanca was once a small fishing village, it has now grown into a place with all amenities. Tasty restaurants, many shops, a luxurious marina and a car-free promenade where you can take long walks.

Puerto del Carmen is also called the tourist capital of Lanzarote. There are several reasons for this: the distance from the airport to Puerto is small (8km), there are many long, child-friendly sandy beaches and there are facilities to please everyone such as restaurants, bars, bowling, open-air cinema and much more.

You can buy your house or flat in Puerto del Carmen in different zones: you have Matagorda and the big beach of Los Pocillos, the busier centre of Puerto which is the area around the Casino and the higher part where Puerto's old port is located. This old "puerto" used to be a small fishing village, where people still fish to this day.

Wish you could explore the whole island from your home or flat in Lanzarote? Then Costa Teguise is your thing. Costa Teguise offers a very central location on the island, allowing you to discover the entire island in a short time. Due to the slightly greater presence of the wind, it is a real windsurfer's paradise. Besides water sports, you can also play a round of golf at the 18-hole Teguise Golf. Due to the attraction of golfers, water sports enthusiasts, but also just people who want to enjoy the many good restaurants and cafés, Costa Teguise has an alternative, peaceful atmosphere.

You can also buy your property in Lanzarote in rural areas. We have listed the three largest seaside villages for you, but of course Lanzarote offers more than just this. Rural villages overflow with charm because of the locals' way of life, traditional markets and the slightly slower rhythm of the day which is probably very welcome. So you have the traditional fishing villages like Arrieta with its chiringuitos where you can enjoy mojitos on the beach or like Punta Mujeres and Orzola which are in the North but have the tastiest seafood restaurants on the island. Don't forget the former capital Teguise, which still exudes a lot of charm with its authentic buildings and rustic streets. Still looking for a bit of hustle and bustle? Then the current capital Arrecife is a place where you can have a nice time in one of the bars on Playa Reducto or on Charco San Gines. For the sporty among us or just people who love nature and traditional charm, we can recommend La Santa and Famara, the absolute surfer's paradise.
