Gran Canaria, the bigger brother of Lanzarote.
Both islands have average year-round temperatures above 20 degrees and both enjoy fantastic nature, but they also have differences. For example, Gran Canaria does not have the typical white low-rise buildings as in Lanzarote, but Gran Canaria is much greener, especially in the north.
Property in Gran Canaria has recovered since the crisis in 2008, with prices remaining stable since 2017. Gran Canaria is very popular with foreigners for buying property. It is expected, but not guaranteed, that due to the Corona crisis prices will remain stable or rise as many people realise that they can work on the move and that in times of crisis (which are not linked to the financial one) one resorts to spending time with family in a sunny climate.
